Course: Two 1.5-hour sessions, 1 week apart
3 to 5 students
This class is intended for a strong beginner who is ready to tackle a more complex project. The mitt pattern is simple but fun. We’ll go over the basic anatomy of a mitt and discuss where to make modifications if needed for a better fit. You’ll learn to knit in the round and how to create a thumb gussets. We’ll also cover picking up stitches and working a loose bind off while staying in pattern.
Skill Level: Students must be comfortable knitting and purling, have some experience reading a pattern, and be familiar with a basic m1 increase.
Materials:
200 yds sport weight yarn
Set of 4 US size 5 double pointed needles.
Pattern will be provided in class.
You can sign up to bring your own materials, or you can choose to include appropriate yarn and materials in your class purchase. If you purchase materials as part of class, you will be able to choose from available colors at the beginning of your class. The yarn that will be included is Arroyo from Malabrigo.
