Class Description
Teacher: Theressa Silver
Course: Two 2-hour sessions, 1 week apart
3 to 5 students
Confused about heels? Does the kitchener stitch make you want to cry? This class is for anyone who’s ever been overwhelmed or frustrated by knitting socks. We’ll start with Judy’s magic cast on (eliminating the need to graft the toes) and then proceed through an easy to master short row heel. The toe up method allows you to try as you go for a perfect fit and you’ll be able to use every last bit of your precious sock yarn. Skill Level: Intermediate level knitters who are comfortable knitting in the round and familiar with basic increases and decreases.
Instruction hand-out will be provided in class.
Class Prep: Have your yarn wound into 2 equal balls.
Materials: 1 skein sock yarn; 40” circular needle (or a set of double pointed needles) appropriately sized to your yarn (typically US size 1); Stitch markers.
You can sign up to bring your own materials, or you can choose to include appropriate yarn and materials in your class purchase. If you purchase materials as part of class, you will be able to choose from available colors at the beginning of your class. The yarn that will be included is the Solemate yarn from Freia Fine Handpaints and it comes as two balls, no winding needed.
