Darning and Reweaving
Teacher: Elise Webb
Course: One 2-hour session
3 to 6 students
A woven darn is a useful mend for almost any fabric type. Come learn how to make this classic mend and extend the life of your cherished woven textiles. We’ll focus on making mends that are subtle or nearly invisible as we talk about the similarities and differences between “darning” and “reweaving” and practice both methods.
No weaving or sewing experience is required, however this is a fairly technical class that would not be suited for young children or those who are just taking their first steps into the crafting world.
All practice tools and materials will be provided in this hands-on class. However, feel free to bring in your own damaged items as well. We won’t fix them in class, but we’ll examine them and make sure you have the proper skills to mend them at home.
$5 materials fee is due to the instructor at time of class.
