Beginning Mending - Private Lesson
Teacher: Elise Webb
Skill Level: Beginner
Time: One 2-hour session
Do you want to mend your clothes but need a place to start? This is the class for you! We’ll talk about the types of fabric our clothes are made from, how damage happens, and how best to fix it. We’ll start with some basic stitches to neatly close up holes, learn how to patch, and then learn how to make it beautiful and durable with sashiko stitching.
No sewing experience is required, and all practice tools and materials will be provided in this hands-on class.
However, feel free to bring in your own damaged items as well. We won’t fix them in class, but we’ll examine them and make sure you have the proper skills to mend them at home.
Materials Fee: $5 materials fee per student is due to the instructor at time of class.
