Course: Three 1.5-hour sessions
3 to 6 students
Tired of making only scarves and dishcloths? If you know the basics of knitting and purling but are intimidated to advance to other projects, take your knitting to the next level with a sock knitting class.
Socks offer a satisfying way to branch out into new knitting territory while providing you with a beautiful and useful end product.
You will learn a top-down sock pattern that can serve as a basis for an endless variety of modifications.
Skills necessary: knitting and purling as well as a basic cast on.
Skills taught:
- long-tail cast on (or alternative if you want to learn a different method)
- Knitting in the round on double pointed needles (DPNs)
- Knitting a heel and gusset
- Toe shaping
