
Sock Knitting - Part 1 - Cuff

Skill Level: Intermediate Knitting
Lesson: one 1.5 hour session. This class is taught as a private one-on-one lesson, or you can sign up your friends at the same time and create a private group class for a discounted price. Class limited to 5 students.
- Overview of the elements of sock construction
- Casting on for a cuff down sock using 2 options of the long tail cast on (thumb method or sling shot)
- Knitting in the round using 4 or 5 double pointed needles. We can also go over how to use Addi wonder circular sock needles.
- Different options for cuff and leg design
- Transition from cuff to the leg part of the sock.
Materials You Supply:
- any yarn appropriate for socks (fingering weight or super fine)
- a set of double pointed needles ( recommend 7- 9” long).
Ute can assist you in choosing materials for your project in the store during the first class.
